MY BIG WHITE WEDDING

The Mary Ward Chapel on 21st July 2007

The lovely details for the whole wedding...

were created by Simone!

Thank you so much, Mone!!!

The groom arrving !
Nunzio's brother
- he's single! Anyone who's interested can post a comment here! :-)

Nunzio's mum brought the groom to the altar...

... where he's eagerly awaiting his bride!

The entrance!

My dad gives me away...

(Note: I probably was the only bride ever, who didn't have a flower bouquet... except of Namiko of course!)

Our priests!

At this point, we'd like to thank Pfarrer Lich for his moving and very personal ceremony and Don Salvatore for keeping things light and cheerful!

A view from above.

And now....
The big moment...

Nunzio speaks the wedding vows in German...

... and I speak my vows in Italian!

The wedding kiss !!!

Wow! We did it!

My little Sister, Irma Sophia, right here in the front!

My little sister managed absolutely everything behind the scenes... together with Thomas,
her - back then fiance, now since 1st of Sept 07 husband (see this post).
Thank you both sooo much for "keeping the show running"!

Andrea,
thank you so much- from the bottom of our hearts - for those amazing songs on your
harp*!

* who could have known that the plugs work differently in Germany than in Italy!!! You've transported the harp nearly 800km to play for us! You played with so much love! Everyone could feel that! And to us this was even more special - as this song is ours - and only very few in the world have the priviledge to say that...!

GRAZIE MILLE !

Our Wedding Witnesses!

Ally, you were the best maid of honour!
And Marvin, what a handsome best man!

THANKS a lot to both of you!

The exit!

OK, this shot is not as important, but you can see my dress :-)

Congratulations in the Mary Ward garden! (This used to be my school yard!)

My lovely sister, Eva, with Raoul!

And hey - by the way - he's the one who's been filming the whole time!

Raoul, we owe you!!! *
* maybe a beer at the Wies'n?

...

And here is the guy behind the photo camera...

Andreas -

... with his lovely wife & best-friend of mine - Johanna.
Thank you so much, Andreas! For those amazing photographs!

...

My mum and me!

My dad and me!

... My husband & me & sparkling wine ...

What do you think? Are they Italians :-)

... Hmmm?! And what are they gosiping about?!? I really hope it's not about my dress :-)

...

And here they come - the family pictures:

Bride and Groom with their Parents

La Famiglia / Die Familie

Me & my sweet flower girls!
Thank you, Lucie & Nina!

(Please note: I'm holding my official flower bouquet!... Hmmm... How did it get to me? Well, Thomas picked it up from home - where my really nervous farther forgot it before... Thanks, Thomas, for rescuring my bridal honour :-)

"OK, let's take one more picture just the two of us..."

The official Picture!

... and where are we going now?

Down the stairs and let us introduce...

The wedding car!

(By the way - what you can't see here is that a bird had shit on the driver's seat... But lucky enough Claudia, Lucie, Nina and Erika saw it just before and removed it on time :-)

Like in the good old days ;-)

Oh, and the bubbles ... What a lovely (kitch) idea from my maid of honour! Thank you, Ally!

And off we go!

" Bye bye!"
...
Arriving back at my parents...

It's time to throw the bouquet!

It flew directly into the hands of Alex! But...

... someone else was really fighting to get it...

Michael, what a lovely suprise!
We wish you and Jo all the very best!!!

...

Just when every one got seated in the tent...

It started raining badly! But hey...

... it didn' bother us!

... nor them!

... well maybe a little bit them - but they are still smiling!

... so are my oncle and my god parents!

Namiko, that's a nice picutre from the two of you - isn't it?!

Munich friends :-)

She was the true star of the night! This little ginger angel!

Dear Ursula, it was so nice having you here with us, but where are you on this picutre? :-(
Well, I'm glad that at least your lovely husband is there!

(Please note the green scarf! It got later combined with a lovely pink jumper from my mum... My mum helped out where she could... Thank god! As I do admit, if it wasn't for my big white wedding dress with many many skirts - I would have been cold, too!)

Johanna & me

Simone & me

Ally & me

And of course some more pictures...

... of the bride & groom ...

OK, enough... :-)

...

What is Simone writing on?

Yes! Feet!

This is a lovely idea from Sabrina (who unfortunately couldn't be with us) and Johanna:
The feet symbolise "dancing"... (If you wonder what dancing got to do with us, then you shouldn't be watching this blog in the first place! What a silly question! :-)
And every guest wrote whishes on there!
Thank you Sabrina & Johanna!

And thank you all so much for your lovely comments!!!
(Except of the one - saying that Nunzio is already married to a Swedish! *grrrr*)

...

My dad's speach!

It got translated into Italian by Olivia (see above)

and my dad then translated it spontaneously into English
(which therefore sometimes was very funny, e.g. instead of "fate"... "fake")

Thank you sooooooo much Dad!
Especialy telling about your marriage with mum, really moved an inspired us!
We can only wish for the same!

And Nunzio's dad also held a moving speach... Not in front of everyone... But very personal to us!
GRAZIE, Pippo!

...

And all the time some music played in the background and continued playing all night long...

Mike and Jule, thank you so much for the lovely music!

We can really recommend the two for any events in the area of Frankfurt, Ruesselsheim, Mainz, etc...! See here for their web page: http://www.youandme.de/

In the meantime...
The sky cleared... And we were able to "hit" the dance floor ...

... with our slow walz!

And then, finally...

... Nunzio's mum could dance with her son!

... and my dad with me!

I guess, Nunzio got his dancing passion from his mum...
and I got it from my dad :-)

... and then everyone!

How do you say "nice picture!" in Dutch?

What are we doing there?
Well, why buy a cake that's already decorated?
Instead - we painted it!

And guess what's on it...

... Yes! Our heart with wings!

Like on our wedding invitation with the poem:
"Humans are like angels with just one wing, only when they embrace another they can fly!"
(by Luciano de Crescenzo)

And at midnight...

... we sent our wishes into the sky!

The End of a wonderful and amazing day!

Well, actually ...

we danced, ate cake, drunk more wine and smoked the narghile until 4pm

...

but this is the last picutre :-)
